Microsoft Office 2010 Screenshots Leaked ! ! !

msoffice2010-about

For some, old news . . . For those who haven’t heard, Microsoft Office’s next edition’s screenshots have been leaked out. Most of the sites, I have been on have indicated that Microsoft Legal has contacted them and asked them to remove the screenshots. So, I won’t be able to post the screenshots themselves, however here are things I noticed in from the screenshots, I am posting the hyperlink to where they are, at the end of this post.

1) Exchange server users should find full integrations between Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office Communicator (Already a part of 2K7). One of the screenshots shows voice mail sent as an email with the voice mail clip enclosed via an embedded Windows Media Player and additionally, the body of the email itself shows the presence states of the sender and recepient, same as you would notice in today’s Outlook.

2) Microsoft plans on releasing 32 Bit and 64Bit Editions. So, that makes it a whole lot confusing and tougher for OEMs because, now they have to deal with twice the number of possible configurations. (I can imagine how my workplace will be, when this happens)

3) The taskpane shows options such as Team Email, To Manager, Team Meeting etc. So, I am guessing two things would happen. One obviously the above as in point 1. Second Identity Managers automatically integrated into Outlook and allow automated task management. This however creates a problem for people like me. My peers and I form a support team and we work individually with seperate groups of people. So, this means, we all belong to two primary distribution lists. One that is a set of my peers and the second that comprises the group I work with. Question is,  which distribution list would become default for people like me, for the Team Email and Team Meeting options. Also, will Outlook allow selecting the team manually, or would it be a default team based on Identity Management?

4) I didn’t see the Office File / Orb on any of the screenshots. However one of the screenshots shows a vertical taskpane with the options, so I am guessing, it acts more like a hidden pane that appears on demand with the necessary options. With larger size for the taskpane, it means File Options can be easily refined and setup.

Obviously the screenshots are what people want to take a look. So, go HERE
